Description

The course begins with a field session, where you are given the opportunity to explore and photograph at your own pace. Your tutor will be on hand to provide any advice and guidance needed.

At the end of this first session we head to the classroom for a tutorial examining the arts of visualisation, composition and photographic design. We will also look at camera techniques and skills to enable you to achieve the images you aspire to capture.

Day 2 will begin early to make the most of pre-dawn and the early morning spring light. We then return to the classroom in the late morning, where you will have time to edit and prepare a selection of images for the afternoon critique. The purpose of the critique is to provide feedback on individual images to show where they are graphically strong and also suggest different compositional or technical approaches.

The final day is spent in the field, where you will again have an opportunity to explore and photograph different locations along the Northumbrian coast, and put into practice all the skills and techniques learned during the course.
