Nikon D3 with 70-200mm AF-S lens set at 200mm. 1/3200 @ f/5.6 at ISO 400.
“The shot didn’t really warrant a 1/3200 shutter speed but I wanted to blur the background foliage to emphasise the lion, which required a wide aperture. I chose f/5.6 to give me some depth-of-field between the eyes (the point of focus) and the nose but not too much that it would resolve detail in the background plants.”
