“This is a favourite of my recent shots. I was in the water photographing a small herd when the main group passed to my left, leaving this lone male to my right. Wary of my presence, he displayed this common intimidation behaviour to keep me in my place. Needless to say, I stayed put. The image subsequently appeared as the Opening Shot in Outdoor Photography magazine and as a double-page spread in The Guardian newspaper. It has also been shortlisted for inclusion in National Geographic magazine’s regular monthly feature ‘Visions of Earth’.”
