Welcome to Chris Weston Wildlife Photography

"Someone once asked me, 'Are you doing right now what it is you most want to do?' The answer was no. And so I stopped what I was doing and became a full-time wildlife and natural history photographer. That was several years ago now and I love my job today as much as I did then. This website was created to enable you to share in my passion. Whether you are here looking for an image, contemplating a photo safari or workshop, looking for tips or just stopping by to browse, I hope you find inspiration in what you discover. Thanks for visiting.

The River Crossing

The River Crossing

This image was photographed as part of a new project I'm working on, capturing terrestrial wildlife in water. It was photographed during a river crossing in Zimbabwe. The main herd crossed to my left but this single male decided to take a different route. On his own he was wary of my presence and displayed this natural intimidation behaviour to keep me in my place. I can say, it worked!

Nikon D3 with 24-70mm AF-S set at 50mm housed in a Ewa Marine underwater housing. 1/800 @ f/8 at ISO 400. Nikon SB800 flash set to Balanced Fill-flash.
